Tom Nixon and Sharon Catalan have been personal friends for nearly 25 years. Tom began his real estate career in 2004 after transitioning from a legal career as an attorney. Sharon started her Caring Transitions franchise in 2012 after a career in high-tech sales. Over the years, Tom and Sharon referred clients back and forth—many of Tom’s clients needed help sorting through years of possessions and managing estate sales, while Sharon’s clients often had a house to sell. Eventually, they noticed a recurring need: seniors who needed to move for safety reasons often hesitated because they didn’t know where to move, what to do with their belongings, or how to manage the proceeds from the sale of their home. This is when the idea for the Senior Relocation Team was born.
